Trackers

When you lose your dog you whistle for him. When you lose your car, what do you do?

THE MAJORITY OF INSURANCE COMPANIES REQUIRE A tracker AS STANDARD!

If you require more information or you require pricing or fitment details, then give us a call.
Statistics released on Thursday July 19 in the Home Office British Crime Survey 2000 show that thefts of and from vehicles are costing owners and the insurance industry millions in uninsured losses.

Only 58% of vehicles stolen in Britain in 1999 were recovered, against over 70% just ten years ago. A recent insurance industry survey indicates that uninsured loss to the owner (where the vehicle is not recovered) runs at an average of £2500, not including any additional costs during the claims period, such as hire of a replacement vehicle.

According to the British Crime Survey, 31% of vehicles recovered were damaged beyond repair and a further 24% suffered extensive damage. The speed of recovery is of paramount importance, vehicles are in many cases stripped of valuable parts - according to the British Crime Survey, this is becoming a growing trend.

How does tracker work?

tracker stolen vehicle recovery systems work like an electronic homing device. A covert transmitter is hidden discreetly in one of several dozen places around your car. There is no visible aerial or other identifying feature so the thief can't see it and won't know it's there.

When your car is stolen and reported to the police, tracker activates the system, which sends out a silent radio signal unique to your vehicle, across a dedicated nationwide transmission network.

With tracker Monitor, a sophisticated sensor detects any unauthorised movement of your car, even if it is towed or lifted away. It then sends a warning signal to tracker's 24-hour monitoring centre who will call you to alert you of the possible theft.

Once activated, the tracker signal from your car is picked up by special detection equipment fitted in patrol cars and helicopters of every police force in the country, allowing them to locate the stolen vehicle to the exact spot.

Because tracker works via land-based radio transmission, it is virtually impossible to interrupt or block the signal, by hiding the car in a steel crate or concrete building for example, as may happen with some satellite systems, making tracker the most reliable tracking system in hostile or theft situations.

tracker Horizon operates in the same way as tracker Monitor with one exception. tracker Horizon also has a satellite locating device installed. Using the Global Positioning System constellation of 24 satellites, tracker Horizon enables the tracker control centre to immediately establish the geographical location of the stolen vehicle through its GPS mapping screens. The Police then use tracker's proven radio transmission technology to pinpoint the location of the stolen vehicle wherever it may be hidden, including steel containers and garages where other satellite systems fail to maintain contact.

Product Options

Three tracker stolen vehicle recovery products are available, depending on what level of service you require.
You tell tracker when your car has been stolen and the system is activated to send out a unique signal which the police will follow knowing it is your car.

The system detects any unauthorised movement of the vehicle and sends a theft-warning signal to tracker's 24-hour monitoring centre. This means we tell you if we think your car is being stolen, enabling us to activate the system and begin tracking as quickly as possible once you've reported it to the police.

tracker Horizon combines tracker's Monitor system with the company's own satellite based Global Positioning System. This means that tracker's control centre can immediately establish the geographical location of the stolen vehicle and relay this information to the Police who then use their tracker equipped vehicles to identify its exact location, wherever it may be hidden.
